Michael grew up in South Florida, the son of a Peruvian mother and WWII veteran father, whose own parents emigrated from Eastern Europe during one the largest immigration waves in U.S. history. He attended a top U.S. high school and excelled in math and physics, initially considering a career in civil engineering or architecture. However, after earning his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and English from the University of Florida, Gainesville, he pursued and received his Juris Doctor degree from Nova Southeastern University, Sheppard Broad Law Center. He developed his interest in immigration law while working for several notable business and investment-based immigration law firms.
Michael is one of less than 73 Florida attorneys (1%) who have earned board certification as an expert in immigration law.
