The international law firm of Diaz Reus is pleased to announce that partner and former Chief Judge of the Florida Third District Court of Appeal, Juan Ramirez, Jr., has been invited to lecture on the principle of Iura Novit Curia in arbitration at the 8th Annual Peruvian Congress of Arbitrators presented by the Peruvian Institute of Arbitration and the Spanish Club of Arbitration. The Congress will be held in Lima and Cusco, Peru from April 18, 2014 through May 1, 2014.<\/p>\n

Iura Novit Curia in arbitration is the principle that allows the arbitrator the freedom to go outside the presentation by the parties to ascertain the law.<\/p>\n

The 8th Latinoamerican Arbitration Conference<\/a> is one of the most important events in the area of commercial and investment arbitration and attracts prominent arbitrators, judges, justices and well-known attorneys from around the world.<\/p>\n

Ramirez is a prolific author and serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Miami School of Law. With 24 years on Florida trial and appellate courts, as well as two years as a JAMS neutral, Ramirez has helped resolve thousands of disputes in banking, commerce, construction, employment, family law, governmental matters, maritime law, and more, involving parties and enterprises from Latin America, Europe, Asia and North America.\u00a0In addition, he has helped educate lawyers and judges through his numerous lectures, seminars and webinars sponsored by the Florida Bar, the Conference of Circuit Judges, the American Conference Institute, Lawline, and other organizations over the years.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
