October 12, 2015 \u2013 Miami, FLA \u2013 Global law firm, Diaz, Reus & Targ LLP (Diaz Reus) announces that Ali Awais<\/a> has joined the firm as a Partner, resident in the firm\u2019s Dubai, UAE office, and Javier Ruiz<\/a> has joined as an Associate in Mexico City. The addition of Awais and Ruiz reinforce the firm\u2019s commitment to adding depth and breadth to the firm\u2019s well-established international scope and capabilities in commercial finance, transactions, and corporate governance.<\/p>\n

Awais expands the firm\u2019s expertise in Middle East infrastructure related banking and project finance transactions, as well as mergers and acquisitions for both the public and private sector. A senior advisor to investment banks and private equity funds, Awais handles project placements, equity and debt raising, and setting up structured products, including funds. He also advises boards of directors and CEOs on international expansion for business value creation, including corporate governance and risk management structures with complex regulatory requirements. Awais earned his Bachelor of Arts and Law with a dual concentration in law and economics from Punjab University and Punjab Law College, Lahore, Pakistan, (LL.B with honors), and Masters in Law from George Washington University, Washington DC (LL.M)<\/p>\n

Ruiz joins the firm\u2019s Mexico City office as an associate handling corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, international contracts, and corporate governance matters for companies in Mexico and throughout Latin America. Fluent in Spanish, English, and Portuguese, Ruiz graduated suma cum laude<\/em> from Universidad Nacional Aut\u00f3noma de M\u00e9xico law school, M\u00e9xico City and studied International Commercial Contracts and European Law at Universit\u00e9 Lille 2 Droitet Sant\u00e9, Lille, France.<\/p>\n
