Immediate Past President (IPP) of the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), Mr. Timothy Tucker, on Tuesday, February 20, met with Mr. Phillip Euell<\/a>, an Attorney of Diaz Reus & Targ, LLP, and its consulting arm, DRT Global.
\nDiaz Reus & Targ, LLP specialises in the areas of financing and securities, corporate governance, and international business transactions, and reached out to the GCCI after taking note of the Chamber\u2019s recent statement calling for an overhaul and modernization of the Guyana Stock Exchange (GSE). Mr. Euell was keen to discuss how Diaz Reus & Targ, LLP could support the GCCI pursuits to see the building out of a modern capital market in Guyana.<\/p>\n

Mr. Euelll believes that his firm is uniquely positioned to assist in this transformation given the company\u2019s vast experience in representing Latin American governments in matters concerning the banking sector, with expertise to navigate and enhance financial legal frameworks effectively. The company also has expertise in technology and cryptocurrency law.
\nMr. Tucker shared with Mr. Euell some of the challenges and limitations that currently exist in Guyana\u2019s capital market and overall financing sector. Mr. Tucker explained the Chamber\u2019s longstanding advocacy for the revolutionising of Guyana\u2019s securities market, and spoke on some of the current work that the Chamber is undertaking in collaborating with other stakeholders to advance this sector.<\/p>\n
